Welcome to the San Francisco Women's Council of REALTORS® website.
Welcome to 2010 – the start of a new year and the end of the rollercoaster ride that was the first decade of this new millennium.
For many agents 2009 was a challenging year. The number of short sales and REOs continued to grow throughout the City, the lending environment was tough and often times unpredictable and fear torpedoed more than a few transactions.
But for several agents I’ve spoken with, 2009 was one of their best – if not their best – years ever. The tax credit and low interest rates encouraged many buyers to get off the fence and actually buy. Savvy move-up sellers took advantage of the downturn and were able to move into their dream home sooner than they may have previously hoped for. Investors got out their checkbooks and were slapping down cash for the right property.
And with 2009 behind us, 2010 is looking rosy. Yes, there will be challenges. Some, like the new RESPA laws, we know about. Others remain to be seen. But with challenge comes opportunity and the Women’s Council of Realtors is determined to help our members take advantage of as many of those opportunities as possible – by offering monthly education, a nation-wide network of like-minded professionals and the chance to develop leadership skills that will provide both personal and professional benefits.
I’m honored to be serving as your 2010 President and I look forward to seeing you at one of our meetings or events. And if you haven’t been to a meeting for awhile, I encourage you to come and get reacquainted with who we are and what we have to offer - and we’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback. It’s a new year and a new decade and we’re here to help you make the most of it!
Best wishes and success,
Michelle Bouchet, 2010 President of the San Francisco Chapter of Women’s Council of Realtors
